Labor Day Weekend Brings Campers to Michigan’s Country Village RV Park
As Labor Day weekend kicks off, campers are flocking to the scenic Country Village RV Park in Ishpeming, Michigan. This popular holiday weekend marks the last hurrah of the summer season, drawing in more visitors than usual.
Linda Leivo, the business manager of Country Village RV Park, has noticed a steady increase in the number of campers each year. Despite better weather conditions last year, with temperatures reaching the 90s, this year has seen above-average attendance.
In addition to the RV park, Marquette is also experiencing a surge in visitors during the holiday weekend. Susan Estler, the CEO of Travel Marquette, explains that the summer season started slow but has gained momentum over time.
Estler highlights the success of late August, which proved to be a busy month for local hotels. As the summer season comes to a close, attention now turns to the upcoming fall season and the region’s stunning foliage.
With higher elevations, Marquette becomes a sought-after destination for leaf-peepers. Estler and her team keep track of the changing leaves to provide visitors with the best viewing opportunities.
While the RV park will experience a slowdown after the Labor Day weekend, Leivo anticipates sporadic travelers throughout the rest of the year.
As the summer season bids farewell, Michigan’s scenic beauty continues to attract visitors, promising memorable experiences throughout the year.
