Protesters in about 30 RVs were forced to leave the street they had been parked on for years and drove to a San Francisco Zoo parking lot on the night of July 29. Park rangers and police officers arrived at the site and informed them that they were trespassing. No one was given citations or detained, and the caravan left the lot in the early morning hours. Most of the RVs ended up parking on Zoo Road.

The following day, Melissa Millsaps from the city attorney’s Public Integrity Unit visited the Pomeroy Recreation & Rehabilitation Center on Zoo Road to obtain security camera footage of the incident. David Dubinsky, the center’s chief, stated that the Public Integrity Unit handles various tasks, including code enforcement and whistleblower investigations.

Dubinsky mentioned that they were trying to determine if a crime had been committed, but the cameras were not helpful as they were not directed towards the incident.
