Officer-Involved Shooting in Butler County

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. — Authorities are investigating an officer-involved shooting which resulted in one death in Butler County on Wednesday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) Troop E stated they, along with the Division of Drug and Crime Control, are assisting the U.S. Marshal Service with the shooting investigation.

MSHP stated this happened at the Camelot RV Park along US 67, north of Poplar Bluff.

Butler County Coroner Jim Akers tells News 3 one person has died in the shooting. Akers also said no officers were injured.

MSHP stated the deceased was a suspect in the incident.

The Camelot RV Park sits on the other side of US 67 across from the MSHP Troop E Headquarters.

News 3 has left a message with the U.S. Marshals Service for more information.

The investigation is ongoing.
