Boil Water Advisory for Seven Winds RV Park
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has issued a boil water advisory for the Seven Winds RV Park public water supply system in Seward County.
What You Need to Do:
- Boil water for one minute before drinking or using it for food preparation. You can also use bottled water.
- Throw away ice cubes and don’t use ice from your automatic icemaker.
- If your tap water looks dirty, let it run until it clears up.
- Disinfect dishes and other food surfaces by soaking them for at least one minute in clean tap water with one teaspoon of unscented household bleach per gallon of water.
- You don’t need to boil water for bathing, but keep an eye on kids to make sure they don’t swallow any water. If you have cuts or severe rashes, check with your doctor.
The advisory started on June 29 and will stay in effect until the problem is fixed. KDHE officials issued the advisory because a power outage caused a loss of pressure, which can lead to bacterial contamination.
Only KDHE can lift the advisory after testing the water at a certified lab.
If you have questions, contact the water system at 620-624-5581 or KDHE at 785-296-5514. For more info, visit KDHE’s PWS Consumer Information webpage: kdhe.ks.gov/waterdisruption.
